Found one New in Box after 10 odd years of being stored. Will be here in the BBT tomorrow night. It is Blued Bull Barrel in .540 cal.
I have another of the same model caliber except it is a RMEF rifle don't like to shoot it.
What kind of experience do you guy's have with the .54 Cal's?

I've had a T/C Renegade 54 cal for well over 30 years. I shot a couple deer with it and it will draw and quarter them.I haven't fired it in years and it's practically brand new rifle. The original stock cracked and was replaced by T/C.They sent me a new stock with everything but a new barrel and ram rod. .New lock, furniture hardware the whole 9 yards.I think that was because they made changes to the Renegade over the years. The replacement stock cracked before I even got to fire it. This time I sent the entire rifle back to T/C. A friend reblued the barrel for me. It has the T/C fiber optic sights. I haven't decided what to do with the barrel that was reblued. Originally I had it Browned which I liked better. After being reblued I was at our hunting camp and moved the rifle. Not thinking about just moving it I forgot to wipe it down. You can see my hand print where I grabbed the barrel. It actually looks like it's under the blue if that's possible. I have never seen bluing do this before.I've tried wiping it down several times and it's not doing anything to remove my hand print. That leads me to believe it's under the blue somehow.it wasn't like I touched the barrel and forgot about it for weeks or months. All this happened overnight.I don't want to put money into it,I doubt I'll ever use it again.I'll probably end up taking the blue off and Brown it like I had it. The Birchwood /Casey Plumb Brown works really good.

That's odd there Ruger. Was it cold blue you used? I am hoping to use the .540 on a moose if I ever get lucky enought o get drawn here in Washington. There used to be available a 750or 760 grain lead coniical from White. I am looking to find some of these if anyone runs across any give a shout out. I am going to try to post up a pic here. Well for some reason I try to post another pic and it copies this one. Any way I hope to get out to the range soon however the range I like here is flooded

That's odd there Ruger. Was it cold blue you used? No it wasn't Cold blue. My old hunting partner was working at gun rebluing shop down in south FL.They did real nice work there. When he brought it to me it looked perfect.I have never seen anything like this before.I've handled thousands of guns over the years working for a gun shop and my own . This was a first. I'll probably never use it again, I haven't found a range close by yet. When I BP hunt I'll cheat LOL and use a inline. That was for your benefit Mongo I know your feelings about modern inlines LOL. Gezz did I tell mongo that
