Took the stepson prairie doggin for the first time last week. This was his first kill. He was using my new .17 HMR. We shot about 30 of them that day. Thinking about going again today.

Congrats. Looks like you all had a most excellent day... Setting up on a prairie dog town was something I always wanted to do, but just never had the chance... I'm jealous...LOL

Yeah, it's fun. We shot one that was standing up on it's hind legs looking at us. When Brian shot it flew backwards like in the westerns when a guy got shot with a shotgun. It fell back in the hole in a posiition that told the whole story. Had to take a pict. of it. I'll see if I can find it and post it.

The best part of prairie doggin is watching the acrobatics when you shoot them. Not to mention you make the rancher with tons of Antelope on his property very happy. Deadeye
