snagged this while bass fishin the other day , weighed 46lbs and took me 25 mins to land him on 14 lb test

Looks to be a carp...and that's a sure enough big one... The state record, caught on rod and reel, grass carp here isn't much bigger than that...and the state record common carp isn't that big. (I just looked up Okla. fishing records.) ................... BIG CONGRATS !

they say the best way to eat a carp is to build you a nice fire ,get you a pine board long as the fish is ,put it on the fire till the board turns black and you're ready ,so throw away the fish and eat the board

An older fella that I knew who passed away a few years ago used to eat them... He filleted them, and then he and his wife would pressure cook them... He said that they made excellent "fish-cakes" when pressure cooked and then made like salmon patties.

i ate some once that an old guy cleaned..he just stripped out the back kind of like tenderloin and battered it and deep fryed it , it was ok while it was hot but once it cooled off it was not worth eatin
